After we were greeted on our first walk with the dogs by a deer enjoying an afternoon in the shade of a tree, these two days were spent getting to know the local museums and the town of Casper.
The Ft. Caspar museum was very thorough and Ft. Caspar itself was an interesting contrast to what we saw at Ft. Laramie.

Most of us got to see the Historic Trails Interpretive Center which proved to be about as well laid out as a museum could be. The many hands-on exhibits made for great pictures and helped round out our information on what the trip across the Grand Frontier must have been like for the pioneers.
