On August 5 we traveled about 200 miles to the beautiful Grand Tetons, passing through Jackson Hole Wyoming on the way. Our first campground was at beautiful Colter Bay Village within the National Park where we were met with treats for our dogs, a "Welcome military group" sign, and American flags at each of our campsites. During our usual 4 pm happy hour we were greeted by a representative of the campground, Hector, who gave us a very informative and entertaining talk about the Grand Tetons (including the origin and meaning of the name) and answered our many questions. They really knew how to make us feel welcome!

On August 6, we met at the Jenny Lake boat ramp for our private tour with Karl as our guide and pilot. We were able to go right up to the foot of the cathedral group of the Tetons, and the sights we saw were stunning. Karl kept us informed about everything we saw.

After our time on Jenny Lake, we spent time wandering through the mountains looking for wildlife. We found herds of bison, elk, and even a bear or two. Sunrises and sunsets, lakes and rivers and mountains made our days magical. On Friday, August 7, we had to move out of the Park because they did not have room for us at Colter Bay but our new campground was just 6 miles outside the gate of the Park, Fireside Buffalo Valley RV Park, so we could continue enjoying the Tetons and our wildlife hunts for another day or two.
